[Scene: Monica and Rachel's appartment. It is morning. Rachel is present, sitting at the table, awaken before Monica! (must be her dog!).]
Rachel: I should've never bought that dog, and I should never have listened to Joey. what am I doing listening to a man that thinks that Garfield is the reincarnation of JFK?
(pause)
Rachel: not only Monica's gonna kick me out, I can't sleep. keeps barking.
(Ross enters)
Ross: Rachel? What are you doing up?
Rachel: Um...I...(sigh) Monica snores.
Ross: What? She've been through therapy on that,she doesn't snore anymore.
Rachel: (smiles)Well..what can you do?
(pause)
Rachel: So, what are you doing here so early?
Ross: I wanted to stop by before work to see Monica, and tell her I can't go with her to do Chirstmas shopping.
Rachel: Oh, that's too bad. why?
Ross: Because, the mueseum had this brand new discovery about dinosaurs foot, and..(cut off by Rachel).
Rachel: I was just asking to be nice Ross
Ross: (quickly) Okay, sorry.
(Suddenly, we hear a set of not loud barks. Rachel starts to panik. Ross has an odd look on his face)
Ross: What was that?
Rachel: (oblivious) What? what was what?what?
Ross: Did you just hear that? It's coming from your room!(starts to walk towards her room)
Rachel: Ross no! (jumps on him, like she did on "TOW Ross finds out". Ross is powerfull then her (*episode 502 :)) and reaches (barely) to her room. he enters room, with Rachel still on his back. the camera is still on the living room, so they disappear from our eyes.)
(Ross walks out, with a shocked look on his face,Rachel walks after him with a guily look on her face)
Ross: You have a dog?!
Rachel: Ross...listen
Ross: (smiles, laughes) You have a dog!
Rachel: Ross, listen, Monica doesn't know...
Ross: (Amazed) Monica doesn't know?! how???
Rachel: Will you keep it down? besides....It was Joey's idea...
Ross: Joey's idea? since when do you listen to Joey? when the guy thinks, we can hear his brain stops functioning!
Rachel: I know, I know, it was a stupid idea, and...
Ross: How can you keep a dog in this appartment? espicially when it's locked almost all day in your room so that Monica won't see him!
Rachel: Ross, I know, okay? I'm gonna figure something out!
Ross: Okay. (goes into the kitchen. Rachel sits on the sofa. 15 seconds pause)
Ross: Um, Rach, I want him.
Rachel: What?! forget it Ross, no way!
Ross: Come on, Rach, he reminds me of Chichi! I'll give you money
Rachel: NO!!!
Ross: Come on...(eyes brighten up) if you won't give me it, I will tell Monica.
Rachel: Oh, you wouldn't...!
(Monica comes out sleepy from her bedroom.)
Monica: What is all that noise? It's my day off!
Ross: Oh, I'm sorry Mon didn't mean to wake you...Rachel just agreed to come shopping with me for a dog?
Monica: A dog? What do you need a dog for? to leave hair everywhere, have to watch out for him 24 hrs. a day, feed him, bath him, go out for walks with him...god, if I had a dog..
Rachel: (cutting in) Alright, I'll come with you!
Ross: Great. Mon, I can't go christmass shopping with you, sorry.
Monica: What? Great, now I'm stuck with shopping with Phoebe.
Rachel: What's wrong with shopping with Phoebe?
Monica: Nothing, it's just that I don't wanna be seen going into "The unicorn house o'spirit"
Ross: Speaking about Phoebe, how's therapy going for her?
Rachel: Well, I think she's better. I think the dr. and her really hit it off. I think they're really attrackted to one another...
Monica: Well no wonder. the way you described him...a combination of Tom Cruise with Ben Afflek will work any day for me...
Ross: Well, I find the "Tom Cruise" type kinda cocky, don't you?
(Monica and Rachel glare at him.)

[Scene: Central perk. Joey, Chandler and Phoebe are present. Joey and Chandler are sitting on the opposite sides of the couch, Phoebe on the armchair.]
Phoebe: Chandler, what time is it?
Chandler: (checking out his watch) 9 o'clock and two minutes to spare Ms. Buffay. Why?
Phoebe: I have an appointment at 9:30 with Mark.
Joey: (teasingly) Mark...we got to first name basis, have we?
Phoebe: Oh put a sock on it Tribbiani!(Joey looks offenesed, like a little boy) I'm sorry..it's just...this therapy isn't helping at all! Mark's a lousy doctor!
Chandler: What? Rachel said he was great. he helped her get over Ross sometime....there were so many times I fail to remember which...
Phoebe: Yeah, take a look at him and understand why Rachel get over Ross...he's the cutest face, and a butt you can...
Joey: (teasingly again)Phoeebs got a crush! and Phoeebs got a crush!
Chandler: Oh Joey, our little girl has grown up!
Phoebe: Oh stop it! I'm not inlove with him! In fact he's just...this big moron with a dot and a dr in front of his name.
(Monica enters)
Monica: Hey guys, what's up?
Chandler: (gets happy) HEY Mon, what's up? good to see you.
(Monica goes in the direction to sit on Chandler's lap, but then remember Phoebe and Joey, so she sits in the middle between Joey and Chandler.)
Monica: What's going on?
Chandler: Oh, Phoebe was just telling us about her new boyfriend..
Phoebe: (over the peak)Mark's not my boyfriend! in fact I don't even like the guy! (stands up) and I soooo not like him that I'm gonna go to catch a bus for the clinic and NOT look forward to seeing him!
(Phoebe exits the room. Monica, Chandler and Joey exchange confused glances)
Joey: (stands up)Um, Chandler I'm gonna go and call us a texi to the mall okay? See ya later Mon
Chandler: Bye (Joey exits)
Monica: A texi to the mall? don't tell me, there's a "all you can stuff to your bag" baywatch souveniers competition...Jasmine Bleeth is coming over personally to give away the sillicon transplant coupons...
Chandler: (chuckles) I wish..no,this christmass is special - I'm going christmass shopping with Joey...
Monica: Oh no...I've seen horror films worse then that...
Chandler: Hey, I'm not that bad at shopping!
Monica: (fakes a vision, hand stright) I can see it now - Dumb and dumber adventures in - the MALL"
Chandler: Hey, I'm not dumb!
Monica: I was making a point - sorry. anyway, I got stood up - Ross decided that he can manage a more enjoyable after noon with barnie's foot.
Chandler: Well, You can't take Phoebe because of the last time, you know I can't watch my little pony reruns anymore!(thinks) why don't you take Emily?
Monica: That'd be nice, I like Emily, but what about Rachel? remembered last time with Julie?
Chandler: Mon, look..I know Rachel might be upset, but this is not a favour for your brother now - this is a new friend we have. if Rachel's having problems with your decision to spend more time with her that's your problem. and when you think of it ours too since she's gonna come whining to us...
Monica: You're right. I mean Emily..
(Cut off by Emily entering)
Emily: Emily's what? oh no, it's junior high all over again...
Monica: (smiles) no, it's nothing like that...I was just..(looks at Chandler. he nods with his head) wondering if you would like to go christmass shopping with me this afternoon.
Emily: (happy) Oh, I'd love to! in fact, I was about to offer you that! I hope it won't create some kind of conflict between you and Rachel.
Monica: oh that's okay... No one can wreck my relationship with Rachel right about now.
[Scene: Dr. Mark Harrison office. Phoebe is on the couch and Mark is sitting on his desk.]
Mark: So, why do you think you have this sudden urge for babies?
Phoebe: oh, oh oh dumb me! I thought you where the guy with all the answers.
Mark: I just help you find the answers. see Phoebe you're a very intelligent young woman.
Phoebe: Well, anyone could've told you that...just ask my friends

Mark: When you came here the first time, you said you had some sorta plan, to offer couples to be a surrogate mother for their future child..is that because you want all those couples to be happy?

Ross: Nope

Rachel: That's why I was hoping Monica will soften up not you! and what are we doing in this mall in the first place?
Ross: Christmass shopping remember? the leg we found eventually belongged to one of the workers mother in law.

Rachel: Oh. good to know your workers are not mutations.
(They laugh).
Ross: Hey Rach, come here...(leads her to a windo of a jewelery store)how do you think this necklece would look on Emily? you think she'll like it?
Rachel: (pauses to think) Um...I don't think that...
(Cut off by Ross)
Ross: I mean look at it, it's gorgeous. it'll brighten up Em's eyes - she has beautiful eyes...
Rachel: Well, um...(lost_) look at the price! it's insane!
Ross: I can afford it! look! let's go in.
Rachel: (whines) Ross..do we have to?
(Ross drags her to the store)
[Scene: Yet another shot of the mall. Emily and Monica are walking around, Emily with two bags in her hands, Monica with one]
Emily: So, have you decided what you're gonna get Chandler?
Monica: I have no idea. it's so hard y'know? now that we're..y'know, it's tough choosing presents for him. what would you buy?
Emily: Well, you know him better then I do.
Monica: It's frustrating. Do I want to buy him something intimate, something not intimate..I always knew what to buy Chandler.
Emily: Well, why won't you buy him something like the stuff you always bought him, something he wants from a friend, and another thing that's more intimate...
Monica: Like what?
[Scene: guess what? still the mall. Joey and Chandler are walking around]
Joey: so now that I've got this new job, I have money so I can buy more gifts...check this out..while you were thinking of a present for your mystery girlfriend, I got Rachel this really cool dress, I bought Phoebe this big cool crystal ball, I bought Ross this ingraved gorgeous pen, I got you something, I'm not gonna tell you, and I bought Monica this sexi night gown, it's just...
Chandler: Whoa, wait STOP! You bought Monica a night gown? don't you think that gift is a little personal?
Joey: Well, I was sorry that I wouldn't be able to see her in that, so I pictured her in that and...
Chandler: Don't do that! stop picturing her in a night gown!

[Scene: Guess...it's the mall. Ross and Rachel walk out of the jewelery store, Ross with a small bag in his hand].
Rachel: I cannot believe you bought her the bracelet!
Ross: SO what? I think it's a great gift..and I can afford it. Rachel, I really love Emily, and this bracelet is just a way to express how much I care.
Rachel: (giving up) okay...alright, whatever. now, can you please let me keep the dog?
Ross: oh wait wait, let me think about it (pretends he's thinking for just one second) NO!
Rachel: Ross, come on! if you don't do this for me do it for Rusty! he really loves me! I can sense it!
Ross: You named the dog Rusty?
Rachel: Yeah, what's wrong with that?

Rachel: For your information I do not keep him all day in my room! when Monica's taking a shower I go out for a walk with him, and when she's out with her mystery boyfriend, he wanders around the house.
Ross: (stops walking, turns to Rachel) What mystery boyfriend?
Rachel: You know Ross, the guy she always spend the night at...come one we talked about it at the hospital when Phoebe gave birth!
Ross: Yes, but we only assumed that...
Rachel: So what, she spends her nights working at the resturant overtime to pay the mortgage? please...
Ross: Wow...my sister has a mystery boyfriend...that's actually kinda neat...
Rachel: (spots something) hey, speaking on which..isn't that your sister?
Ross: (looks around) where?
Rachel: (points at Monica, standing near a store looking at the window) Over there
Ross: Yeah it is! (calls out) MOnica! Mon! (to Rach) She can't hear us, let's go up to her!
(They both go up to her. she's standing alone)
Ross: Hey Mon!
Monica: (shocked) Ross, Rachel, what are you doing here? (starts to panic) I..I thought that you (points to Ross) had a dinosuar...thingy.
Rachel: Don't get him started! so doing some christmass shopping?
Monica: Well..actually
(Cut off by Emily appearing, first she doesn't notice Ross and Rachel)
Emily: Monica, you gotta come I think I found what you can buy to him...(notices Ross and Rachel) Rachel! Ross! hey what are you doing here?
(Goes to Ross and kisses him)
Ross: We were shopping. the mueseum thing was bogus. you and monica are here together?
(We see a close up on Rachel's face. her face looks like they're about to explode...has an intiminating look on her face)
Emily: Yes..christmass shopping.
Rachel: Escuse me.
(Runs off the place.)
Emily: Was it something I said?
Monica: No, it's nothing.
Emily: So Ross, you and Rachel here together huh? usually I would've been upset..but I trust you.
Ross: Thank you (kisses Emily on the cheek) listen, I gotta go find Rachel, and finish shopping...so, I'll see you guys later. bye (kisses Emily, walks off)
Emily: Is Rachel going to be alright?
Monica: (not sure,distracted) yeah, she'll be fine. come on, let's go see what to get Chandler.
[Scene: Central perk. Phoebe, Chandler and Joey are there.]
Phoebe: So that idiot didn't help whatsoever.
Chandler: Phoeebs? I think you have a crush on your doctor.
Phoebe: Hey just because his cheekbones are so high there are almost at the same level as his eyes does not mean that I'm inlove with him!
Joey: You can't even stop talking about him!
Chandler: Yeah...(mocking, pretending to be Phoebe) oh that idiot doctor with the high cheek bones...oh, you think he will vote for me if I run for student body ?
Phoebe: If you are implying that I'm developing a high school girl crush..you couldn't be more wrong.(changing the subject) So, how did the shopping go?
Joey: Great...this time I didn't have to steal money from Chandler to buy you all nice presents...
Chandler: (ignoring Joey's comment) Yeah, and I finally got everybody nice presents.
Joey: Yeah, even for his mystery girl friend.
Chandler: Hey - !(pause) you stole from me?
Joey: (changes subject)(to Phoebe) So, your shrink an idiot?
(Suddenly Rachel comes burging in, upset and mostly angry)
Rachel: (angry, loud voice) I cannot believe her! she did it again! I don't want to even look at her right now!
Phoebe: What are you talking about rach?
Rachel: me and Ross were at the mall and then guess who we bumped into at the mall, shopping together?
Chandler: Monica and Emily?
Rachel: I - (turns to Chandler) You knew ?
Chandler: Monica told me and...I better shut up...
Joey: Monica and Emily were shopping together? oh my god I!...wait a minute, What's wrong with that again?
Rachel: I can't believe you! It's just what she did to me with Julie! she betrayed me with my rival!
Chandler: (stands up) You cannot compare the two! Rachel, it's different! Emily is our friend! She's practically one of us!
Rachel: (shocked) do you all feel this way?
Rachel: Pheebs?
Phoebe: Sorry guys, but I root for Rach. Monica knew where Emily stood in the eyes of Rachel, and she shouldn't of done it for her best friend.
Chandler: But-,
Rachel: Good...Joey?
Joey: Sorry Chan...I tend to agree with Rach.
Chandler: What? but you -, forget it, hope you grow up soon.
(Chandler storms out of Central Perk)

Phoebe: (to Joey) so you actually stole from Chandler?
[Scene: Monica and Rachel's appartment. Monica is there pacing restlessly. Chandler enters.]
Chandler: Hey..where's Emily?
Monica: She went home...god, I really screwed things up with Rachel...
Chandler: Hey, it's not your fault.
Monica: Of course it is Chandler, Emily's Rachel's rival...I could've anticipated Rachel's reaction before going shopping with her.
Chandler: Hey Mon (hugs her) it's not your fault. you have every right to spend time with whoever you want.
(Rachel opens the door. she sees c & m hugging, they don't notice her. she closes the door, untill it's only a bit open and she listens)
Monica: Yes, but Rachel's one of my best friends. I shouldn't have gone with Emily shopping if I knew it will hurt Rachel.
(Rachel smiles)
Chandler: That's where you're wrong. you like Emily right? you enjoy spending time with her...why should you stop only because Rachel has a problem with that? she's just being a selfish brat!
(Rachel opens her mouth in amazment and anger)
Monica: You know what? you're right (Rachel opens her mouth even larger...) I like Emily, and I can spend time with her.
Chandler: Exactly (hugs her again. Rachel looks mad)
[Scene: Monica and Rachel's appartment. it's christmass eve. the place is slightly decorated with appropriate decorations. Ross, Emily and Joey are at the living room chatting. Phoebe and Rachel are on a further side of the living room, more in the interiors of the living room. Chandler and Monica are at the kitchen.]
Chandler: (trying to cheer up Monica) Hey, don't worry Monica, Rachel will get over it. it's just a passing thing. I'll bet you'll be hugging and kissing tonight.
Monica: Yeah, I hope you're right.
Chandler: I am right. you'll see. oh by the way, about the gifts thing...I bought you two things. one is here, I'll give you while everybody are exchanging presents, and one later... after the party, if you know what I mean...
Monica: You're kidding? I did the same.
Chandler: What did you buy Rcahel?
Monica: Lucky for me we don't buy each other anything. we just cover up for each other's rent. one month I pay, and once month she pays. because she exchanges everything I give her for credit, and I hate every thing she picks up for me so...
[Phoebe and Rachel]
Rachel: I'm so glad I don't have to buy Monica anything...and I regret buying Chandler anything.
Phoebe: Rach, don't be mad with Chandler for siding Monica..it's just his opinion. and although I agree with you, I don't wanna stop being friends with Monica.. I mean she's one of my best friends and I love her.
Rachel: It's okay, I understand Phoeebs. I just wish Monica would apologize instead of turning against me.
(Time lapse. now everybody are sat around the desk. Ross, Emily and Joey on the couch, Phoebe and Rachel on the chair, and Monica and Chandler on the floor. there are many paper wraps on the table, since most of the presents have already been opened.)
Ross: Now Emily, open mine...
Emily: (excited) okay (starts to unwrap the present. she holds a long black tiny box. she opens it and takes out a beautiful golden bracelet.) (shocked) oh my god Ross! It's beautiful! I love it! oh Ross (hugs him).
(Rachel looks like she's about to cry).
Ross: Rachel can I talk to you in the kitchen for a sec.?
Rachel: (suprised) Um, yeah sure...(everybody looks interested)
(Rachel and Ross go to the kitchen)
Ross: Look, I thought about it a lot, I did and...You can keep the dog...
Rachel: Really? oh thank you Ross! thank you thank you thank you! (hugs him)
Ross:...On one condition.
Rachel: What's that?
(Quickly cut to: later. everybody excepts Rachel are in the living room. Ross is standing in front of the television facing the rest. Chandler, Monica and Emily are sat at the couch, and Joey and Phoebe are on the chair.)
Ross: Ladies and Jentelmen..I'm proud to anounce the preformance of Ms. Rachel Green, as the singing dwarfs!
(Rachel comes out looking hillariously silly right now, dressed in the same uniforms as Joey did when he worked in that place. with the green, red, white outfit and a silly hat and pointy shoes.everybody's laughing except Monica, which just stiffs a smile. I bet the audience would have his share of laughes as well)
Rachel: (whispering, to Ross)Is this really necessary? this is just plain mean!
Ross: Oh yeah..unless someone will find out about...y'know
Rachel: Oh, alright!
(Ross is sitting down on the hand of the couch near Emily.)
Rachel: Um, you can join in if you know the words... "Jingle bells...jingle bells...jingle all the way...how much fun it is to ride in an open slade. hey!
(Time lapse. on the screen it says an agonizing half hour later. everybody looks like their about to slash their own throats. Ross keeps smiling evilly)
Rachel:"....and a portridge in a pare tree..."
(everybody's clapping)
Joey: Yeah! (everybody applaude)
Rachel: Wait...before I finish...as a part of
this bet I lost with Ross, that caused your mysery for the past half hour I also promised
to sing another song... (coughs) Okay, here goes... (starts singing)
"Her name was Lola.(croud and gang starts to laugh) She was a showgirl. With yellow
feathers in her hair, and a dress cut down to there. She would marenge,and do the cha-cha.
And while she like to be a star, Tony always tended bar.At the Copa, Copa Cabana (everyone
joins in) The hottest spot north of Havana. At the Copa, Coo-pa Ca-ban-a, music and
fashion were always the passion, at the Copa....copa cabana!
[Scene: Chandler and Joey's appartment. Chandler is there pacing around. Monica enters wearing a silk bathrobe colored grey.]
Chandler: Where have you been? What took you so long?
Monica: I had to wait untill everybody left, and I wanted to combine your present and Joey's. thank you for the bathrobe.
(Monica slips down the bathrobe and remains with an extremely sexi short nighty...Chandler mouth drop, and encourging wisses are heard from the crowd...)
Chandler: I...I, I LOVE JOEY!
(starts to kiss her heavily. she breaks away)
Monica: Wait...first I want us to exchange presents...
Chandler: Right! thanx for the sony play station! I love it!
Monica: Yeah I got it the twenty eight times you jumped on me and thanked me before.
Chandler: It must have cost you a fortune...
Monica: actually my cousin runs an electronics shop so that didn't cost me anything...marry christmass chandler (hands him a long tiny box wrapped)
Chandler: What's this? (un wrapps the wrap. opens the box) Oh my god...that's the watch I always wanted! Monica, you didn't have to do this! (hugs her) Thank you sooooo much!
Monica: You're welcome. I'm glad you liked it.
Chandler: kidding? It's what I always wanted! even more then the sony play station!
Monica: I wanted to get her something with a spirtual nature...like when you bought Kathy that book she always wanted...but I couldn't find anything...and then I found this. I promise I'll get you something "spirtual" for your birthday.
Chandler: Okay then...kidding. here. (gives her a very identical looking box wrapped. she unwrapps it and takes out a beautiful golden necklece,she's shocked) Monica: Oh my god! Chandler, you didn't..!
Chandler: My checkbook will pretty much tell that I did.(softly) I wanted you to have it...
Monica: Awww...thank you (hugs him).
Chandler: So, what do you say I'll unwrap Joey's gift huh?
Monica: I like that...a lot..
(They start to kiss passionatly heading for the bedroom)
[Scene: Monica and Rachel's appartment, a day later. Rachel's there at the table. Monica enters the appartment].
Monica: Listen, Rachel we need to talk.
Rachel: There's nothing to talk about.
Monica: Rachel, look. I'm sorry that me hanging around with Emily upsets you, but I like Emily. I know you consider her to be your rival, but...
Rachel: No, Monica! You're my best friend! You know how I feel about Emily! how can you go behind my back and do something like that to me?
Monica: Rachel wait...
Rachel: No, Monica, I'm sorry. you did it once, you're doing it again, and this time I don't know if I can forgive you so quickly.
(Rachel quickly goes to her room)
(Monica looks like she's about to cry).

[Scene: Monica and Rachel's balcony. Monica is there alone. Chandler enters]
Chandler: hey, I've been looking all over for you!
(Monica quickly goes to hug him and starts to cry)
Chandler: Hey, what's going on? (starts to stroke her hair) things are stuck with Rachel?
Monica: Yeah... she's more mad at me then last time...I don't think we'll go through this.
Chandler: What do you want me to do? anything, you name it.
